Luang Prabang overview

Luang Prabang, which is found in north-central Laos, contains loads of historical sites, which is probably why the city was named a World Heritage Site. Luang Prabang was the capital of Laos until the communists took over in the 1970s and still contains many of the biggest tourist attractions in Laos. In addition to having some of the most famous temples in Laos, including Wat Xieng Thong, Luang Prabang also has many natural attractions that draw in the tourist money. The Kuang Si Falls and Pak Ou Caves attract a lot of visitors and if your desire is to sit upon a bored elephant that walks the same track all day, you can do that as well. There are still a lot of remnants of the French, including old houses in the provincial style.
